Questions To Ask Before Buying A Spray System

Whether you’re new to using spray systems, or you’ve purchased one before, it can be very helpful to have an idea of your specific needs and goals before making a purchase. If you’re stuck on trying to decide which system would be best for you, use the following questions as a guide towards making your final decision:

What type of MATERIAL will you be spraying?

Each material (e.g. stain, lacquer, latex, etc.) has a different viscosity, and will therefore require a different nozzle, turbine strength, etc. The material that you spray sometimes plays a factor to which spray system is best for you.

What type of SURFACE will you be spraying?

Are you spraying furniture, a cabinet, or a car? These different surfaces will require a different type of spray system to ensure efficiency in application and a stellar finish.

What type of BUDGET do you have to work with?

Like everything, your purchase will be dependent on the budget you are working with. Your project budget will always fluctuate, but ultimately, the budget should reflect whether or not you are pursuing projects as a hobby, or as a profession. If you are using spray systems in your profession, it may be helpful to pay more for something with more versatility that will last longer.

How FREQUENTLY do you spray?

Are you a professional contractor, or a weekend warrior? Your use of your spray system will depend on when, or how frequently, you prefer to use it.

Is SOUND a factor?

Do you work in an area where sound needs to be minimal or controlled? Sound plays a large factor for those in the business market who are spraying frequently. Businesses that use several spray systems at the same time can expect more volume overall, so sound suppression can be an important basis for your purchase decision.

Do you desire the ability to control the speed and power of the turbine in order to spray a variety of finishes and coatings?

If you’re the kind of person who likes to kill two (or three) birds with one stone, this will be something that you’ll definitely want to consider.
